There’s an new program at Zoo Atlanta that’s fun and stimulating called Keeper for a Day. Teens and family members come and assist the zookeepers with their daily chores.
Kids will embellish this unique experience at working behind the scenes with animals like elephants, lions, otters or even warthogs. Daily chores include taking care of the animals, food preparation, feeding, and cleaning. Imagine the look as your child comes face to face with a real lion!
The Keeper for a Day program offers two options. The first one is Elephants and Warthogs and that goes from 8AM – 3:30PM. The second options is Australia and Carnivores. Participants can spend part of their day in the Australian Outback at Zoo Atlanta. Times for this are 8AM – 4PM.
You must be 14 years or older to participate in the Keeper for a Day program. Only two people can participate per session. Registration fees run from $225 for members to $275 for non-members.
