There are many Things To Do in Atlanta in September starting off with Labor Day Weekend. September is traditionally a sports lovers dream. The football season kicks off in high gear with the Georgia Tech Yellowjackets, Atlanta Falcons, and Georgia Bulldogs. The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series is on Labor Day Weekend and baseball fans can watch the Atlanta Braves as they position themselves for the post-season playoffs.

Atlanta Things To DoAtlanta Racing – NASCAR Sprint Cup Series: Labor Day Classic 500, a.k.a. the AdvoCare 500. Thousands of people will come days ahead to camp out for what is the best single day attended sporting-event in metro Atlanta.

The Labor Day Classic 500 takes place at the Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton, Georgia and features three days of NASCAR racing.

Things To Do in September

Atlanta Events: Dragon*Con – the largest, craziest multimedia, sci -fi and fantasy convention in the world. Celebrity guests include William Shatner, Elvira, Carrie Fisher, Lou Ferrigno, Stan Lee and many others.

The annual Dragon Con Parade takes place September 3 on Peachtree Street. There will be plenty of cool costumes and kids will enjoy the multitude of Star Wars, Star Trek and super heroe characters.

Football Event: Bank of America Atlanta Football Classic presented by 100 Black Men of Atlanta is one of the nation’s largest Black college football games pitting Florida A&M University against Southern University on the gridiron. The Atlanta sporting event is also 100 Black Men of Atlanta’s largest fundraiser for its mentoring, academic support and scholarship program, Project Success.

The college game takes place at the Georgia Dome on Saturday, September 24, 2011 with kickoff at 3:30 pm.
