The Columbus Day Weekend marks the first holiday weekend of Fall. It’s a great time to spend quality time outdoors at events like the Pumpkin Festival at Stone Mountain Park. Kids and families can enjoy attractions and entertainment like the Trick or Treat Scavenger Hunt, Great Pumpkin Puppet Parade, Costume Contest or Pie Eating Contest! Stone Mountain Park’s Annual Pumpkin Festival occurs weekends throughout October.

Food lovers can look forward to the cities premier outdoor food festival “Taste Of Atlanta” takes place.  There will be food to taste from more than 80 of Atlanta’s top restaurants. The Taste Of Atlanta Festival features live cooking demonstrations, live local music, family food zone, Go Green Village and a Farm to Festival Market.

The Atlanta Pride Festival has become one of the largest Atlanta Events. Thousands of people are expected to crowd the streets for the Atlanta Pride Parade in Midtown Atlanta. Piedmont Park figures to be party central for the 300,000 plus people expected to attend.

Of course, there’s other entertainment including Atlanta theatre, concerts, shows and more!

Oktoberfest GeorgiaAtlanta Fall Festivals: Oktoberfest is a month long beer, food, dancing & music extravaganza that takes place in the Bavarian style mountain town of Helen, GA. About 70 miles North of Atlanta, the Alpine-replica village sits on the pristine waters of the Upper Chattahoochee River. It’s a wonderful time of year to view the fall foliage of the Appalachian Mountains. Oktoberfest offers Old-German foods including grilled brats, Oompah Music, Arts & Crafts, Polka Bands and plenty of German Beer!

The 34th Annual Great Miller Lite Chili and BBQ Cook-Off has a new location at The Georgia International Horse Park, 1996 Centennial Olympic Pkwy, Conyers, Georgia. The festival features live entertainment and mouth-watering foods.

Football Event: Bank of America Atlanta Football Classic presented by 100 Black Men of Atlanta is one of the nation’s largest Black college football games pitting Florida A&M University against Southern University on the gridiron. The Atlanta sporting event is also 100 Black Men of Atlanta’s largest fundraiser for its mentoring, academic support and scholarship program, Project Success.The college game takes place at the Georgia Dome on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 3:30 pm.
