Atlanta-Hawks-InformationThe Atlanta Hawks had an excit­ing 2008-09 sea­son and end­ing up in 2nd place in the South­east Divi­sion. They made it to the East­ern Con­fer­ence Semi­fi­nals before los­ing to the dynamic Cleve­land Cavaliers.

The 2009-10 sea­son looks promis­ing, bring­ing back the same core group of play­ers that helped them to the play­offs last year. The Atlanta Hawks also made an intel­li­gent move in the off-season by sign­ing free agent scor­ing machine Jamal Craw­ford improv­ing the back-court depth.

Although the Hawks have only one only win­ning NBA Cham­pi­onship in 1957, they remain one of the most vic­to­ri­ous teams in NBA his­tory. They also had one of the most thrilling play­ers ever to touch the bas­ket­ball. In 1982 the Atlanta Hawks acquired Dominique Wilkins. His nick­name was the “The Human High­light Film” and became the franchise’s all-time lead­ing scorer.

Today, the Atlanta Hawks are a young tal­ented team led by all star guard Joe John­son. Other excit­ing play­ers include power for­ward Al Hor­ford, small for­ward Josh Smith and guard Mike Bibby. The Hawks are coached by Mike Wood­son, who is in his fifth sea­son at the helm.
