A unique exhibit by the heralded photographer Robert Weingarten is now underway at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta. The exhibit is titled “The Portrait Unbound” and features 21 large scale digital masterpieces of famous American Icons.
Robert Weingarten has his own heralded style of photography that is both unique and compelling. Through the use of highly sophisticated digital photography he has portrayed achievements and interests in people’s life. His style is different due to his perspective which displays biographical instead of physical information.
Robert Weingarten was born in New York City in 1941, eventually moving to Los Angeles in the early 1980′s. He spent many years working for financial companies before devoting himself full time to photography.

Many of the digital portraits displayed at the High Museum reflect Americans from the arts, culture, politics, sports and sciences. Some of the art works featured include Mikhail Baryshnikov, Billy Graham, Hank Aaron, Dennis Hopper, Jane Goodall, Sandra Day O’Connor, Carl Lewis, and Colin Powell.
Since pursuing his true passion, his works have been shown worldwide and are featured in many collections including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, J Paul Getty Museum, George Eastman House, the High Museum of Art, and the Whitney Museum of American Art.
Along his journey, Robert Weingarten has earned many awards such as the Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society and the 1997 Licentiateshop of the Royal Photographic Society. He has produced several books and appeared in numerous publications. Robert Weingarten currently resides in Malibu, California.
