Atlanta’s Only Official Red Carpet Event: Oscar Night America – Atlanta
Event to Benefit The Center for Family Resources
Tickets on Sale Now!
On Sunday, March 7, 2010, Hollywood is bringing the excitement and glamour
of its biggest night to Atlanta for the ninth year, through the festivities
of Oscar Night(r) America – Atlanta, benefiting the Center for Family
Resources. After the event’s success at last year’s new venue, the premier
gala will return to Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre and continue to
impress over 600 guests at the Sponsors Dinner. Individual ticket holders
are invited to join our sponsors at Atlanta’s only official Oscar(r)-viewing
party, which allows guests to experience the year’s culmination of fashion,
film and entertainment in an elegant theater setting. WSB-TV’s Jovita Moore
will be returning to serve as emcee for the evening.
All proceeds from the annual event will benefit The Center for Family
Resources. Guests may attend as sponsors or purchase individual tickets.
Those interested in being a sponsor of Oscar Night(r) America – Atlanta may
visit www.TheCFR.org for more information.
Individual tickets to the Viewing Party are available for $25 (Tickets will
go on sale to the public today, Dec. 3, 2009, through
www.AtlantaRedCarpet.com.) The event kicks off at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday,
March 7, at The Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre and continues until the
final gold statue is presented.
Comedians Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin will co-host the 82nd Academy
Awards(r) telecast. Martin previously hosted the ceremony on his own in 2001
and 2003. While it may be Baldwin’s first time to serve in the role, he has
ample experience as he’s hosted Saturday Night Live 14 times, only bested by
Martin’s record of 15 appearances in the role.
While sponsors are invited to a seated dinner prior to the live telecast,
both individual ticket holders and sponsors will enjoy the many festivities
of the viewing party. While watching the year’s best in film accept their
awards, guests can take a spin on the dance floor or chat over cocktails,
hors d’oeuvres and dessert. In addition to a raffle for a VIP “Swag Bag,”
bids can be placed on a variety of items during a special silent auction.
Guests will also enjoy special entertainment throughout the evening as
members of Dad’s Garage Theatre Company play the part of the paparazzi and
impersonate Hollywood favorites, a fortune teller checks into when they’ll
be receiving gold (a statue or otherwise) and a caricature artist pen turns
them into their favorite film star.
Chairing this year’s event will be Glenn and Alice Brock of Brock, Clay,
Calhoun & Rogers, LLC. “We are proud to have the opportunity to bring this
piece of Hollywood to Atlanta,” noted Glenn Brock. “This is a fantastic
evening to celebrate the best in film, but the event serves a larger purpose
in assisting those without the resources create a home and better life for
their families.”
