A special exhibit at the Georgia Aquarium titled “Planet Shark: Predator or Prey” is not showing through Labor Day Weekend. The exhibit explores the relationship between humans and and the world’s most feared predator, the shark.
Popular display’s at “Planet Shark: Predator or Prey” include:
- An 18-foot Great White shark caught in South Australian waters. This is the largest shark ever caught by recreational fishing!
- Elaborate assemblage of ancient shark jaws, fossils and teeth that date back 350 million years!
- Shark themed film-festivals and lectures from world-renowned shark experts.
- Shark cages and authentic artifacts from the movie “Jaws”.
- A cool display of a real, frozen 700 lb Blue-fin tuna and its natural predator, an adult Mako shark frozen in time.
- Detailed information on the Great White shark satellite tagging program and other conservation efforts.
The Planet Shark: Predator or Prey is a 12,000 square-foot exhibition that compliments the 14 varieties of sharks housed inside the Georgia Aquarium. This special event was conceived by a team of experts in the fields of sharks, aquariums, ocean cinematography and world-class exhibitions.
