Comedy and Concerts Tops List of Weekend Events in Atlanta

Concerts and comic relief highlight Atlanta GA Today’s List of weekend events. David Chappelle, Bill Cosby and Joan Rivers will all be in town providing their own brands of humor. Two major concert events feature Pitbull & Kesha and Bob Dylan with Wilco and My Morning Jacket.

Pitbull & Kesha North American Tour

Thursday June 27

Dave Chappelle, stand-up comic perhaps best known for his improvisational humor and political satire. Although most of his performances at the Tabernacle are sold out tickets can be purchased here.

June 29th 7:30pm & 10pm
June 30th 7pm

Concert: Pitbull & Kesha, two of today’s iconic pop stars perform 7pm at Aarons Amphitheatre At Lakewood (formerly Lakewood Amphitheatre) in South Atlanta.

Movies: Man On A Ledge, enjoy this free movie screening taking place outdoors at dusk. A part of the “Movies In Central Park” series at Atlantic Station in Midtown.


Friday June 28

Baseball: Atlanta Braves vs. Arizona Diamondbacks, the first place Braves look to lengthen their lead in the National League’s East Division. Game time is 7:30pm at Turner Field.

Comedy: Bill Cosby, one of the most beloved and dynamic comedians of all-time performs 8pm at the Cobb Energy Centre in North Atlanta.


Saturday June 29

Comedy: Joan Rivers, the Brooklyn-born comic gives a special performance 8pm at Atlanta Symphony Hall inside the Woodruff Arts Center in Midtown Atlanta. Can We Talk?

Concerts: Americanarama Festival of Music: Bob Dylan, Wilco & My Morning Jacket 5:30pm at Aarons Amphitheatre At Lakewood (formerly Lakewood Amphitheatre).

Sunday June 30

Basketball: Atlanta Dream vs. San Antonio Silver Stars, women’s hoop is alive and well in Hotlanta as the Dream continue their quest for the best record in the WNBA. Game time is 3pm at Philips Arena.

Music Event: Atlanta Symphony Orchestra: Cirque Musica performance 7:30pm at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park in Alpharetta, Ga.
