Racing enthusiasts will come from all over the country will migrate to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and enjoy three nights of races under the lights. The featured race is the AdvoCare 500 also known as the Labor Day Classic 500. The racing event is billed as the Biggest Labor Day Party in the USA!

Dragon*Con is the largest multimedia, sci -fi and fantasy convention in the world. The multigenre convention is hosts to 30,000 plus members and is spread out over five hotels in Downtown Atlanta. Celebrity guests include William Shatner, Elvira, Carrie Fisher, Lou Ferrigno, Stan Lee, Loni Anderson and many others.
The annual Dragon Con Parade takes place September 3 on Peachtree Street. There will be plenty of cool costumes and kids will enjoy the multitude of Star Wars, Star Trek and super hero characters.

Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game
The Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game has a BCS-style feel to it as the Alabama Crimson Tide plays the Virginia Tech Hokies. The opening game kicks off at 5:30 p.m. ET and will be telecast nationally on ESPN.
Sheryl Crow anchors this years Kickoff Concert at Centennial Olympic Park. Gates open Noon at the park and will conclude at 4:30pm. The Kickoff Concert is sponsored by 680 The Fan.

ATL 20K RELAY & 10K
The race starts at 7:15 a.m. in the Castleberry Hill Historic District and travels through Downtown Atlanta passing favorite local landmarks including Turner Field, Centennial Olympic Park, CNN Center, Phillips Arena and The Georgia Dome.

Annual two-day arts & crafts festival occurring each Labor Day Weekend in Marietta Square. The arts fest draws ten of thousands and has been a tradition in Downtown Marietta since 1986. Highlights include the Marietta Chalkfest, Artists’s Market and Painted Pots.

What began as informal house parties has grown into the largest Black Gay Pride celebration in the world. Atlanta’s reputation as a black gay mecca is magnified during the first weekend of September, especially when thousands gather in Piedmont Park on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend.
