Peach_Drop_Atlanta1923The Peach Drop in Atlanta, Georgia is billed as the largest New Year’s Eve party in the Southeast. The 2010 Peach Drop New Years Eve celebration includes lots of live entertainment, fireworks, children’s activities and more!

This year, Morris Day and The Time will headline the show and ring in the New Year. Thousands will come from all over to watch the giant Peach as it descends just before the clock strikes midnight.

Live entertainment at the free event starts off at 6 p.m. and continues through the evening with performances by local favorites Stellate and Ben Deignan. The Beatles Cover Band from Nashville, The WannaBeatles will be taking the stage right before Morris Day at 9:45 p.m.

Atlanta Tradition

The first Peach Drop dates back to 1989 and has since become not only an Atlanta tradition but also a world-renowned event. A crowd of over 100,000 is expected to attend the all day and night festival.

In addition to the live entertainment and fireworks at the main stage there will be plenty of kids activities at the Budding Peach Stage from noon through 6 p.m. Kenny’s Alley will feature The Chick-Fil-A Bowl and Peach Drop on the big screen along with live entertainment all day and night.

For those wanting more action, there will be large inflatables at Lower Fountain’s Plaza and a bungee activity on Upper Alabama Street.
