Atlanta Braves Trade Kotchman for LaRoche

Adam LaRoche returns to the Braves in exchange for first baseman Casey Kotchman and 1.5 million in cash. The trade makes sense for Atlanta as they hope Adam can provide some power as he normally does in the second half of the season.

Although Casey Kotchman has been hot lately, he has never hit more than twenty homers in a season. LaRoche should fit in smoothly with the Braves since he’s been here before. In his last year as a Brave Adam punched out 32 homers, 90 rbi’s, and a .285 batting average.

Adam LaRoche will be a free agent at the end of the season.

Atlanta Falcons signed DT first rounder Peria Jerry today. He should have a big impact on the front line and start immediately. Peria Jerry is a 6–2 294 lbs. beast from Mississippi who will add size and strength up the middle on defense. Also take note, the Falcons have signed all their rookies and all will be set to go in training camp.

Do the Jonas Brothers have Talent?

For those of you who are not aware there are three brothers from New Jersey who formed a rock band called Jonas Brothers. I’m sure I’m not the first person who had serious doubts about this trio who consists of Nick Jonas, Joe Jonas and Kevin Jonas.

I heard of these guys sing before but never gave them much thought. My interest started to grow after I saw the Jonas Brothers on the July 2008 cover of Rolling Stone Magazine. They were the youngest band ever to grace the cover of the celebrated music journal. The Jonas Brothers originally became trendy with the Disney Channel. Released from their first album It’s About Time, the Year 3000 became a hit single on Radio Disney and a music video soon followed.

In 2007, the Jonas Brothers self-titled second album was released. It was an immediate success reaching number five on the Billboard Hot 200 chart in its first week! S.O.S. and Hold On were hit songs with videos from the trac.

In the Summer of 2007, the Jonas Brothers sang We Got the Party with Miley Cyrus. The song was performed on the Hannah Montana television show and seen by more than 10.7 million viewers. Soon after they were invited to the White House to sing the national anthem.

The popularity of the Jonas Brothers was now exploding, surpassing all expectations. In August 2008 they released their third album A Little Bit Longer featuring the hit songs Burning Up and Pushin’ Me Away. They also co-wrote six songs for close friend Demi Lovato during the shoot of the well received movie Camp Rock. Later that same year the Jonas Brothers were nominated for Best New Artist at the 51st Grammy Awards.

Lines, Vines and Trying Times shows the bands progression from teeny boppers to serious musicians. The Jonas Brothers really showcase their diversity from the power guitar riffs of Paranoid to the love ballad Fly With Me or the catchy Poison Ivy. Lines, Vines, and Trying Times displays a variety of songs that reaches out to a broader and more sophisticated audience.

Currently the Jonas Brothers World Tour 2009 is in full swing. They are playing in multiple countries all over the world and are scheduled to perform at Philips Arena in Atlanta on August 22, 2009. Catchy lyrics such as Paranoid that are embedded in my brain is proof the Jonas Brothers have emerged into an extraordinary talent that will be with us for years to come.
