Should Michael Vick be allowed to play in the NFL again?

We know that Michael Vick has been released from prison and has been placed under house arrest at his home in Virginia. The question now is what’s next for Michael Vick?
Before we look at his future lets step back and look at his past. Vick owned Bad Newz Kennels and was convicted of financing and running dogfighting rings. He finally admitted to violently torturing and sometimes killing these animals.
If we analyze his character there are definitely some questions that need to be addressed. Why did he lie repeatedly to Goddell? Don’t we wish we could have been behind those closed doors when Michael Vick and Atlanta Falcon’s owner Arthur Blank had those discussions?
Sad to say Michael Vick was not an honest or truthful individual and behaved like a thug on many occasions. Does anyone recall when after a poor performance at game at the Georgia Dome he poetically gave the crowd the bird?
The National Football League needs to understand and address the public image they are displaying towards our children. Does the NFL stand for the National Football Losers or the Nutcases From Leavenworth? What’s next, the all star prison team starring Ray (I didn’t do it although I saw who did) Lewis, Larry (I’ll kill you and get away with it) Little or Plexico (I really should be on David Letterman) Burress.
Some may suggest that torturing animals is a precursor to more serious criminal intentions such as serial killers. Is this how we judge the moral fabric that determines the character personified by Michael Vick?
On the other hand dog fighting has been part of a culture that has existed in the extreme rural and urban areas of our country as well as many others. Michael Vick was punished and he did his time. We all make mistakes because no one perfect and its all part of the frailty that makes us human.
Allow us to put this in perspective as this is America and we are not Religious Extremists, Nazis, or the Spanish Inquisition. AtlantaGaToday recommends that Michael Vick deserves a second chance and should be re-instated to the NFL … as long as it’s not with the Atlanta Falcons!

Lenox Square Mall and Phipps Plaza are at the corner of Peachtree Rd and Lenox Rd in Buckhead. This is the Southeast’s premier shopping destination.
Lenox Square Mall by itself has over 250 stores and is anchored by Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus and Macy’s. Across the street you’ll find Phipps Plaza. Phipps has been named a “Southern Best” by Southern Living and has the high end specialty stores such as Giorgio Armani, Jimmy Choo and Gucci to name a few. Phipps Plaza is anchored by Saks Fifth Ave, Belk and Nordstrom.
Perhaps the coolest shopping destination is Atlantic Station. Dubbed the city within a city you can find anchors such as the massive IKEA store as well as Dillards and a huge Target. Plenty of restaurants abound this work, live and play community as well.

Michael Vick took his first steps towards freedom and what hopes to be a new beginning for the ex-Atlanta Falcon quarterback. Once the most exciting player in the NFL, Michael Vick left Leavenworth Federal Penitentiary in Kansas about 5:00am this morning. He will begin to serve the rest of his sentence under house arrest at his Hampton Virginia home.
Michael plead guilty to financing a dogfighting ring and served 19 months of his 23 month sentence in prison. Upon return Michael expects to take a $10 an hour job as a construction worker and looks forward to reuniting with his Family.
Humane Society President Wayne Pacelle said Tuesday that he met with Michael at the Kansas Prison. He stated that Vick wants to help the Humane Society on a program to abolish dogfighting among urban youths.
Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank suggested that Michael was taking positive steps and making changes in his life and stated that Michael’s paid his debt to society.
Although Michael Vick has a long road ahead of him he appears eager to get his life back on track and hopes to return to the NFL someday.
